Life After Breaking Bad...

The day we had been dreading finally arrived.
We completed the entire series of a Breaking Bad.
We were depressed for days.

Its amazing how fond you become of drug cooking crazy criminals when you get to know them. Walt, Jessie and their mad dodgy dealings had become part of our lives for a consistent five weeks. We'd cram in as many episodes a night as we could stay awake for and then we went to bed discussing our theories on money laundering and poisonous plots, leaving us questioning our own morals. Mostly I was wondering what I'd spend the hard earned cash on. Morals, what morals?

Aww...I miss these guys!
Up until now, the only other television series that had captured both our attention to last more than a few episodes had been Luther, but Breaking Bad was on a whole other level and now it's over... where do we go from here? I doubt very much that anything can fill the Heisenberg Hole in our lives, but to sooth the pain, I've put together a selection of television treats that should keep me (the Hubster will hate this lot!) going for a while... (aside from Celebrity Big Brother...oh dear, did I just admit that? I'm not watching it, honest!)

Sofa- check. Tea- check. Blanket- check. Remote- check...

Dracula

Although I do have prudish side (read here about my Fifty Shades of Shame story...) but I am partial to a tasty vampire tale or two, (Twilight, True Blood...yes please) and if you loved The Tudors then you will fall head over heels for Sky Living's Dracula. This steamy reimagining of the classic Dracula, (novel by Bram Stoker for all you book geeks) has everything that The Tudors oozed, but sexier, if you can believe that...? The cast are hot, the costumes are seductive, the setting is enticing and the plot literally leaves you thirsty for more. Jonathan Rhys Meyers was the hottest King of the sixteenth century and has now morphed into the sexiest king of the blood sucking underworld...the only thing missing is his hunky sidekick Henry Cavill, but we can't have it all.

The series continues this Thursday 9th January on Sky Living, but you can catch up on the previous episodes on demand. Clear your weekend, this is deliciously dark and not to be missed!

Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Do think they would adopt me...?
A guilty pleasure of the highest degree, but I don't care, I love the them all and I love Keeping up with the Kardashians! The glamour, the drama, the tantrums, the laughs, I love it all and I am obsessed with E! Entertainment. There I said it. It feels good to get that out there. Season 9 is set to hit our screens in the UK at the end of January...and I can't wait.

Grey's Anatomy

We've missed you guys!
Here's a series that never fails to make you sob into your tea and leave you reaching for the Anadin, Grey's Anatomy. Returning for its tenth season, we start where we left off following the aftermath of that devastating storm that hit Seattle in series nine. It was touch and go as Miserable Meredith gave birth to McDreamy's sprog, Bailey got her mojo back and oohh and remember Jackson escaping the exploding bus like a yummy superhero...? All the while Ex-Chief Richard goes and electrocutes himself in the basement...smart move genius! It's just all too much...

The new series starts tomorrow night, Wednesday 8th January on Sky Living, so get your make up remover and your tissues at the ready as it's bound to be a heartbreaking tearjerker from the beginning, never a dull moment, unless your yapping on about a plane crash law suits...they almost lost me for a moment there.

Birds of a Feather

They're back!

I can't believe it's been sixteen years since the Essex based trio were on our screens, but they are back and this time on ITV. So much has changed in television since the show last aired in 1998 and so its expectations were high. The first episode was met with high ratings but mixed reviews. It's an easy watch, full of easy laughs, what's not to like about these brilliant and original Essex girls?

Birds of a Feather continues on Thursdays at 8.30pm on ITV.

Has anyone found a replacement for Breaking Bad? What programes will be keeping you glued to your sofas this January?

Until next time,

With Love & Square Eyes,

Katie x
